Photographer, photography curator and educator; founder and director of the center of photography Spazio Labo’, in Bologna, Italy, and of the educational program "Photo Workshop New York".
Former editor of Dog Food magazine.

Born in Messina, Sicily, I moved to the North, in Bologna, where I currently spend most time of the year, at the age of seven with my family. Since very young I used to write and play instruments, mainly the violin, and while traveling with friends I was usually referred to as “the one with the camera”. After graduating in Communication Science at the University of Bologna I started my long-term relationship with photography. In 2008 I spent some months studying at the International Center of Photography in New York, where I realized my first personal project and begun my relationship with the city and its photographic community. Back in Italy, by the end of 2009 I was living with photography 24/7, teaching photography and organizing photography workshops and exhibitions with a local photo organization.
In 2010 I founded, along with photographer Roberto Alfano, Spazio Labo' | Center of Photography, a non-profit organization dedicated to photography in the center of Bologna which consists in a gallery, a school, a library and a place for events such as book presentations, talks, portfolio reviews. I teach in the one year program of the school and curate the gallery, which hosts shows by both emerging and established national and international photographers. In July 2011 I started the independent editorial project called Edizioni Labo', self publishing books and catalogs for Spazio Labo'. Since 2010 I’m also the director of the program "Photo Workshop New York". I frequently collaborate with international festivals and organizations, in the role of portfolio reviewer and jury member, and was one of the members of the artistic direction of SI FEST 2018.
Writing, reading and playing the trumpet are other ways I use to keep breathing everyday.
